Shaw’s Supermarket is Laying-Off Workers – Will You Be NEXT?

Shaw’s Supermarket is laying off 700 of its fine workers at its New England location. What will these workers do now? Did any of them see THIS coming? If you’re a worker that’s concerned about YOUR future you need to read this now…

700 workers will now join the long, but slowly dwindling, unemployment line with the announcement that Shaw’s Supermarket is laying off several hundred of them (see story here).

The BIG question is whether or not any of them saw this coming and most importantly, did any of them have a “plan B” in case something like this happened.

Having been laid off once without warning, I can say it’s a scary feeling knowing that you don’t have a source of income to rely on to provide the necessities of life.

If you have a job know that you cannot see it as a reliable source of income. Don’t wait til it’s too late to develop a “plan B”…especially if you have a family counting on you to provide for them.

Think the worst case scenario – think of those unfortunate employees who will be losing their jobs at Shaw’s…is there anything you can do right now to prepare for such a thing in case it happens to you?

How to Develop a “Plan B”

Start a business on the side. It’s best to start with something that you’re familiar with or something that’s not too complicated.

With a business there will be some sacrifices but you do have to keep in mind your priorities.

If you have a marketable skill that you can do on the side, do that. If you don’t then the next easiest thing is to join a network marketing company with  proven products/services that people (not other distributors) want to buy and ARE buying.

If you want to spend some length of time learning the ins and outs of Internet marketing and affiliate marketing, you could choose a product/service and promote that. Note that you do have to know what you’re doing and you do have to prepare yourself for the huge learning curve that naturally comes with Internet marketing.

Hopefully you’ll be able to sustain yourself and your family as you battle through this learning curve. Some people can and some people can’t. What gets most people is the long periods of time where they put in lots of effort only to see literally nothing in return. It can and will get frustrating.

This is why…

I Recommend This

If you’ve done CPA marketing or affiliate marketing then you know that finding converting offers can be a chore and time consuming – not to mention it can drain your bank account if you’re doing paid marketing and you’re not watching your conversions.

When you start with products and services that a lot of people use, it makes it that much easier to build your “Plan B”…your successful business.

If you’re looking to start a home business or a “plan B”, this is where I suggest you start. At the very least start doing SOMETHING. Some action is better than no action at all.

Think about those people at Shaw’s Supermarket – right now they’re looking at a bleak future unless they’re able to quickly find another job to replace their income…and given the state of the economy that may not be an easy task.
